Why trust WeSellMachines — how we reduce risk in used machinery deals
Why companies trust WeSellMachines
The used industrial machinery market is full of offers that look good in photos and turn into problems after purchase. Companies come to us because they want to decide on facts: the real technical condition of a machine and its real market value — not the seller's description.
WeSellMachines operates in used woodworking machinery and used metalworking machinery. Appraisal and technical assessment are the responsibility of a named expert — not an anonymous "team", not an algorithm.
The role of Marcin Białczyk as the expert
Appraisals and technical assessments are led by Marcin Białczyk, machinery appraiser and chief engineer at WeSellMachines. He has been appraising used industrial machinery for over 15 years. He completed his engineering degree in 2000 in Wrocław, Poland. He appraises several hundred machines every year, working mainly in the Polish and German markets.
That means every assessment is backed by one named person who stands behind the method: technical condition, documentation, service history and the current market situation. Expert profile: /marcin-bialczyk/. Full appraisal methodology: /machine-appraisal/.
How we reduce risk when buying and selling machinery
In a machinery deal, the risk sits with the side that doesn't know. We reduce it in a concrete way:
- We inspect technical condition, not the listing copy. Spindles, guideways, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, controls — each machine type has its own inspection points.
- We verify documentation and completeness. Manuals, schematics, tooling and accessories — what actually transfers to the buyer.
- We establish the history. Operating pattern, processed materials, servicing, failures, retrofits — two identical machines from the same year can be worth very different amounts.
- Valuation is based on the current market. We analyze demand, comparable offers and prices of actual completed transactions — not just asking prices.
- A result with reasoning. The client receives not just a figure, but what raises it, what lowers it, and where it comes from.
What the transparent process looks like
The process is the same on both sides of the deal, and every step can be checked:
- The client provides machine data: photos, parameters, service history, location.
- The expert analyzes the input and — where needed — arranges an on-site inspection.
- The appraisal is built on technical condition and the current market situation.
- The client receives the result with full reasoning.
- Only then does the client decide: sell, buy, negotiate.
We do not promise results that cannot be defended with numbers. If input data is incomplete, we say openly that the result will be less accurate — and what is needed to make it precise.
Which data and documents we analyze
- machine photos: general view, nameplate, key components, areas of visible wear,
- parameters: manufacturer, model, year of manufacture, working dimensions, power ratings,
- technical documentation: manuals and schematics,
- service history: inspections, repairs, replaced assemblies, retrofits,
- usage information: operating pattern, materials, working environment,
- location — for dismantling and transport costs,
- market situation: demand, comparable offers, prices of actual transactions.
FAQ — trust and deal confidence
How do I know the appraisal is reliable?
An appraisal is a method, not an opinion. We show what the result is built from: technical condition, documentation, history and the current market situation. Each of these elements can be verified independently.
Who exactly is responsible for assessing my machine?
Marcin Białczyk, machinery appraiser and chief engineer at WeSellMachines — over 15 years of experience, an engineering degree completed in 2000 in Wrocław, several hundred machines appraised each year, mainly in Poland and Germany.
Do you also work on the buyer's side?
Yes. We work with B2B clients on both sides of the transaction: with sellers who want to set a fair asking price, and with buyers who want to check whether an offer is worth its price.
What if my machine is outside Poland or Germany?
We appraise machines in other locations as well — especially when the client provides complete photo and technical documentation. If an on-site inspection is needed, timing depends on the location.
