About Fadal

Fadal was founded in 1976 in the United States and became one of the early pioneers in CNC vertical machining centers. The company specialized in manufacturing CNC mills and vertical machining centers, with particular emphasis on user-friendly controls and reliable mechanical designs. Their product lines included the VMC series vertical machining centers in various sizes, ranging from compact models to large-capacity machines.

Fadal served primarily the aerospace, automotive, mold and die, job shop, and general metalworking industries. Their most popular machine models included the VMC-15, VMC-20, VMC-40, and VMC-60 series, which became widely adopted in North American machine shops during the 1980s and 1990s. The brand changed ownership multiple times after its founding, including periods under Giddings & Lewis and later a management buyout, before production eventually ceased. The large installed base of Fadal machines remains in operation, supported by an active aftermarket parts and service community.
